Whats the best way to clone a 2TB SATA Xbox HDD to another 2TB drive I have an Inateck FD2002 that is a dual SATA USB 3.0 dock, that has an offline cloning feature, but every time I try to clone my 2TB Xbox SATA HDD using the offline cloning feature, I initiate the clone function, then it briefly starts the process, but the dock restarts itself.Another Startech dock with USB 2.0eSATA connectivity is the StarTech.com SATA Hard Drive HDD Duplicator Dock - eSATA USB Hard Disk Drive Duplicator - 2.5 3.5-Inch Hard Drive Cloner on the same page linked above.
This does sector by sector cloning of Xbox formatted hard drives The description of the product from the link you sent doesnt mention sector by sector offline cloning. In the past ive just cloned whatever is present and start making whatever changes i feel fit on the new drive. I posted the question at there website and am awaiting their response. Working as far as I can tell and all data there so must be okay. No issues with Issues with Phillips DVD drv on 1.1. Do I have to apply a patch to DVD drv If no I will try another DVD-R burner on slowest speed. The only sticky issue that is pretty minor is the switched power requirements. I dont really understand electronics that well past what I call a blackbox understanding. You know, I understand that the boards I use say they will take a certain voltage in and output whatever but no knowledge to build a more complex circuit for switching the reset line for the smc. I am using a meanwell psu that is rated for 5v20A that you can find in a lot of places on the internet. One to step up the voltage to 12v:Please login or register to see this link. I have some idea that you could use some transistors maybe to accomplish this but I am not super sure. The goal here would be to use the above boards in custom pcb for future slim xbox builds.
